Features Vakameasina

• Vakameasina (treasures we carry together) is an education and development programme for seasonal horticultural workers, funded under the New Zealand Aid Programme.• The contributing Pacific Island countries of Vanuatu, Fiji, Tonga, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Kiribati, Nauru and Papua New Guinea make up the participants in the programme.• The Vakameasina programme is focused on developing skills and knowledge while workers are in New Zealand in order to create sustainable development opportunities for the workers to improve their lives and that of their communities back home.• ​Vakameasina supports growth and learning in New Zealand and contributes toward healthy resilient communities throughout the Pacific.
